The natural and (+)-enantiomer of 9,10-epoxytetrahydroedulan decane>, the main component of the hairpencil secretion of Euploea klugii, was synthesized via (-)-dihydroedulan II (2) by starting from (S)-2,4,4-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-ol (D).
