The complexes of aryloxyacetic acid hydrazides with Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) salts have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molecular weight determinations, conductivity measurements, magnetic moment and spectroscopic techniques.The ligands and their metal complexes have been tested for in vitro growth inhibitory activity against some phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria and it is observed that the coordination of metal ions has pronounced effect on the microbiocidal activity of the ligands.
