Archaeosine or nucleoside G*-15, is a known nucleoside in the tRNA sequence characterized by a 7-deazaguanosine core structure. It is present only in Archea and the remarkable similarities with queuosine(N925205), present in Eukarya and Bacteria, suggests a common biosynthesic origin.
Definition
ChEBI: A 7-deazaguanine ribonucleoside having 7-formamidino-7-deazaguanine as the nucleobase. It is found in the majority of archaeal tRNAs specifically at position 15 of the dihydrouridine loop (D-loop), a position not modified in either eukaryotic or bacterial
RNA.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 148608-52-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,4,8,6,0 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 148608-52:
(8*1)+(7*4)+(6*8)+(5*6)+(4*0)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*2)=150
150 % 10 = 0
So 148608-52-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

A short and efficient synthesis of the tRNA nucleosides PreQ0 and archaeosine
Brueckl, Tobias,Klepper, Florian,Gutsmiedl, Katrin,Carell, Thomas
, p. 3821 - 3825 (2007)
Modified nucleosides in tRNAs play an important role in the translational process. They fine tune the codon-anticodon interactions and they influence the folding and stabilisation of the tRNA structure. Herein, we present a novel synthetic route to the highly modified nucleosides PreQ0 and archaeosine. The synthesis involves coupling of a protected 7-cyano-7- deazaguanosine nucleobase with a TBDMS and isopropylidene protected chloro-ribose unit yielding the PreQ0 nucleoside after deprotection. This PreQ0 nucleoside is then used as the starting material for the synthesis of archaeosine providing the first total synthetic access to this hypermodified RNA nucleoside.
