General Description

Adomeglivant is a chemical compound that has been developed as a potential treatment for type 2 diabetes. It acts as an inhibitor of the enzyme 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11β-HSD1), which plays a role in regulating the metabolism of glucocorticoids. By inhibiting this enzyme, adomeglivant is thought to reduce the production of cortisol and thereby improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Clinical studies have shown promising results in terms of its ability to lower blood glucose levels and improve other metabolic parameters in patients with diabetes. Adomeglivant is still under investigation and has not yet been approved for clinical use.
