The reaction of α-arylhydrazononitrile 1 with hydrazine hydrate, phenylhydrazine, mercaptoacetic acid, ethylene diamine, o-phenylene-diamine, o-aminothiophenol and o-aminophenol is described to give the corresponding pyrazolthioles 3, 4 and the corresponding azoles 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, respectively.Also compound 1 reacts with malononitrile, ethylcyanoacetate and phenylisothiocyanate to give the corresponding azines 10, 11 and 12, respectively.
