Several new metal complexes of Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II) with hydrazones derived from benzoic, p-methyl or p-nitro substituted acid hydrazide and furan-2-carboxaldehyde are reported. The complexes have been characterized by the elemental analysis, molar conductance, spectral (IR, electronic) and magnetic studies.IR spectra show that the ligands coordinate in bi- and/or tri-dentate manner.Different stereochemistries are proposed for Co(II), Ni(II), Pd(II) and Cu(II) complexes on the basis of spectral and magnetic studies.
