Purification Methods
Purify the pyrophosphate by ion-exchange chromatography on Dowex-1 formate [Bloch et al. J Biol Chem 234 2595 1959], DEAE-cellulose [Skilletar and Kekwick, Anal Biochem 20 171 1967], or by paper chromatography [Rogers et al. Biochem J 99 381 1966]. Likely impurities are ATP and mevalonic acid phosphate. Store it as a dry powder or in a slightly alkaline (pH 7-9) solution at -20o.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1492-08-6 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,4,9 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1492-08:
(6*1)+(5*4)+(4*9)+(3*2)+(2*0)+(1*8)=76
76 % 10 = 6
So 1492-08-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

, p. 1013 - 1016 (2007/10/03)
A bifunctional inhibitor of mevalonate kinase and mevalonate 5-diphosphate decarboxylase was synthesized. Both enzymes are in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway and play an important role in regulating cholesterol biosynthesis. The molecule may become a
