A diverse set of imidazole derivatives is prepared from the corresponding sulfilimines and ynamides. These functionalized cyclic products can undergo further transformations to afford diverse imidazole frameworks. Moreover, in situ synthesis is feasible and shows good potential in the synthesis of nucleoside analogues.
