Ohsuka, Akihiro,Hirao, Toshikazu,Kurosawa, Hideo,Ikeda, Isao
, p. 2538 - 2542 (1995)
Structures of (oxodimethylenemethane)palladium and -platinum complexes in solution and in crystalline states were investigated by 1H NMR, IR, and X-ray crystallographical analyses. The following features are disclosed: the structures consisted of contributions from π-allylic and metallacyclobutanone canonical forms; the palladium complex has a larger contribution of π-allylic character than the platinum complex in both states; the degree of contribution of π-allylic character increased upon the increment of solvent polarity and the addition of protic solvent.
A Novel Synthesis of (Oxodimethylenemethane)-palladium and -platinum Complexes

, p. 1039 - 1040 (2007/10/02)
Treatment of ?-allyl-palladium and -platinum complexes bearing a methoxymethoxy group at the 2-position with base give the corresponding oxodimethylenemethane complexes, in contrast to the formation of 2-hydroxy-substituted ?-allyl complexes via acidic hydrolysis.
