Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of some cinnoline derivatives containing sulphonamido group

The title compounds (3) have been prepared by the intramolecular cyclisation of the corresponding hydrazones (2) with AlCl3.Reaction of these cinnoline derivatives (3) with hydrazine hydrate and benzene diazonium salt affords the expected pyrazolocinnolines (4) and 1-arylazo derivatives (5), respectively.
