2-Chloro-3,4,5,6-tetrafluoro-benzoyl fluoride is a chemical compound with the molecular formula C7ClF4O. It is a derivative of benzoyl fluoride, featuring a chlorine atom at the 2nd position and four fluorine atoms at the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th positions on the benzene ring. 2-chloro-3,4,5,6-tetrafluoro-benzoyl fluoride is known for its reactivity and is often used as a reagent in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Due to its highly electronegative fluorine atoms, it can act as a strong electrophile, facilitating reactions such as acylation. The compound is also characterized by its stability and resistance to hydrolysis, which makes it a valuable intermediate in the synthesis of complex molecules.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1550-20-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,5,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1550-20:
(6*1)+(5*5)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*2)+(1*0)=55
55 % 10 = 5
So 1550-20-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for the preparation of halogenated benzoyl fluorides

-

, (2008/06/13)

A process for the preparation of a halogenated benzoyl fluoride, which comprises contacting a halogenated benzotrifluoride of the formula STR1 in which m and n independently of one another represent an integer from 0 to 5, the sum of m and n being 5, with at least one sulphur compound of the formula STR2 in which X denotes fluorine, chlorine or hydroxyl and Y represents hydroxyl, or X and Y together denote an oxygen atom linked to the sulphur atom by a double bond, at an elevated temperature, and after reaction with the halogenated benzotrifluoride, removing the sulphur compound from the reaction mixture in the form of a compound of the formula STR3 in which X has the meaning given and Hal represents fluorine or chlorine, the reaction product is further reacted with potassium fluoride at an elevated temperature and under increased pressure.
