A highly regioselective cascade synthesis of 2,3-dihydrobenzodioxepinone from 2-bromophenols and epoxides has been developed. The reactions go through nucleophilic ring-opening of epoxides and subsequent palladium-catalyzed intramolecular alkoxylcarbonylation. The Royal Society of Chemistry.
