Ethane, 1-chloro-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethoxy)-, also known as 1-chloro-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethoxy)ethane, is a halogenated ether with the chemical formula C3ClF7O. Ethane, 1-chloro-1,1,2,2-tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethoxy)- is a colorless, volatile liquid with a molecular weight of 213.48 g/mol. It is synthesized by reacting 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoroethane with chlorine trifluoride in the presence of a catalyst. This chemical is primarily used as a refrigerant and as a blowing agent in the production of foam plastics. Due to its high global warming potential, it is being phased out in many countries in favor of more environmentally friendly alternatives.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1561-50-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,5,6 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 0 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1561-50:
(6*1)+(5*5)+(4*6)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*0)=68
68 % 10 = 8
So 1561-50-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Relative Rate Constants for the Reactions of CF3OF with Olefins in Solution

Navarrini, W.,Russo, A.,Tortelli, V.

, p. 6441 - 6443 (2007/10/03)

The addition reactions of CF3OF to chloro fluoro olefins have been studied in solution at low temperature (-78, -105 deg C), and their relative rate constants have been determined using the kinetic approach of competition reactions. The reactivity and regio- and stereoselectivity are consistent with a free radical chain-propagating reaction in which the alkenes are attacked by the CF3O* radical generated by homolytic cleavage of the O-F bond in the CF3OF molecule.

Fluorination of Chlorinated Trifluoromethyl Ethers

Sekiya, Akira,Ueda, Kunimasa

, p. 1421 - 1424 (2007/10/02)

Chlorine atoms in the chlorinated trifluoromethyl ether prepared from the reaction between chlorinated ethylenes and trifluoromethyl hypofluorite were fluorinated directly by fluorine gas.Tin(II) fluoride/sodium fluoride system was effective in the fluorination.
