15621-57-5 Usage

General Description

Sodium nitrate, also known as Chilean saltpetre, is a white solid compound with the chemical formula NaNO3. It is widely used in the production of fertilizers, as well as in the preservation of meat and fish, as it inhibits the growth of bacteria. Sodium nitrate is also utilized in the manufacturing of gunpowder and fireworks. In addition, it has applications in the glass and pottery industries, where it is used as a flux to lower the melting point of silica and improve the stability of the final product. However, sodium nitrate is also a known carcinogen and has been linked to various health concerns, leading to restrictions on its use in certain products.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 15621-57-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,5,6,2 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 15621-57:
(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*6)+(4*2)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*7)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 15621-57-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
