A new method for synthesis of acyclic 2-(1-alkoxyethylidene)-1,3-dicarbonyl compounds by condensation of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds with 1,1,1-trialkoxyethane in the presence of boron trifluoride-ether complex at -10 to 0 deg C was developed.
