156638-52-7 Usage
General Description
1,2-bis(2-amino-5,6-difluorophenoxy)ethane-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid, also known as BAPTA, is a chelating agent with a high affinity for binding to calcium ions. It is commonly used in biological and biochemical research to buffer and control intracellular calcium levels within cells. BAPTA is a strong complexing agent and is often used in conjunction with a calcium indicator dye, such as fura-2, to measure and study calcium signaling processes. Additionally, BAPTA has been investigated for potential therapeutic applications in treating conditions associated with abnormal calcium signaling, such as neurodegenerative disorders and cardiovascular diseases.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 156638-52-7 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,5,6,6,3 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 156638-52:
(8*1)+(7*5)+(6*6)+(5*6)+(4*3)+(3*8)+(2*5)+(1*2)=157
157 % 10 = 7
So 156638-52-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
