Structure determination of an inositol from Artemisia nilagirica by high-field NMR spectroscopic methods

The structure of an inositol isolated from the n-butanol extractive of Artemisia nilagirica has been established as L-2-O-methyl-chiro-inositol (L-quebrachitol).Unambiguous 1H and 13C NMR spectral assignments have been made on the basis of selected 2D NMR (1H-1H and 1H-13C COSY) combined with standard 1D NMR experiments.
