At room temperature, the double butterfly complex 2(C(Ph)-C(H)> reacted with Pt(C2H4)(PPh3)2 to give , > and .It reacted with dppe to form the substituted derivative 2C(Ph)C(H)(μ-dppe)>, which was subjected to an X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal of 2C(Ph)C(H)(μ-dppe)> is triclinic with the space group P, a=12.969(1), b=13.032(1), c=18.669(1) Angstroem, α=76.81(1), β=72.74(1), γ=63.99(1)o, Z=2.The structure was refined by the block-matrix least squares method. The final R and Rw values were 0.0435 and 0.0492 respectively.Key words: Iron; Selenium; X-ray diffraction
