PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing industrially a pyridine compound. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a method for producing a compound represented by formula (3), by processes such as a reaction between a 2-chloropyridine compound represented by formula (1) and a Grignard reagent represented by formula (2), and a method for producing an isoindolinedione compound represented by formula (8), [where R is a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, cyano, nitro, C1-C6 alkyl, halo (C1-C6) alkyl or the like, and X is a halogen atom]. A series of 3-(2-pyridyl)pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidines was designed and synthesized as antagonists for the corticotrophin-releasing factor-1 (CRF 1) receptor. Several compounds such as 20c (Ki=10nM) exhibited good binding affinities at the CRF1 receptor. In addition, 20c had adequate solubility in water.
