Chiral bis(Oxazolinyl)thiophenes for enantioselective Cu(II)-catalyzed friedel-crafts alkylation of indole derivatives with nitroalkenes
Li, Weijie
, p. 943 - 948 (2014)
A series of chiral bis(oxazoline)thiophenes were used as chiral ligands in the Cu(II)-catalyzed asymmetric Friedel-Crafts alkylation of indole derivatives with nitroalkenes, and the effects of reaction conditions on the yield and enantioselectivity were investigated. The ligand 1c was identified as the best ligand of this family in the same reaction. Springer Science+Business Media New York 2014.

supporting information, p. 6452 - 6457 (2020/08/24)
The first enantioselective hydrogenation of terpyridine-type N-heteroarenes has been successfully developed by using Ru(diamine) complexes as catalysts, providing partially reduced chiral pyridine-amine-type products in high yield (up to 93%) with excellent diastereo- and enantioselectivity (up to 94:6 dl/meso, > 99% ee). These pyridine-amine-type compounds can be served as a new class of chiral multidentate nitrogen-donor ligands, which were successfully applied to the Cu-catalyzed asymmetric Friedel-Crafts alkylation reaction of indoles with nitroalkenes.

Catalytic asymmetric Friedel-Crafts reaction of indoles with nitroalkenes was catalyzed by the stereochemically tunable bis(oxazolidine)pyridine (PyBodine)-Cu(OTf)2 complex. Using the PyBodine(Val)-Cu(OTf) 2 catalyst gave the Friedel-Crafts ?adducts with highly enantioselective manner. For the 1,4-bis[(E)-2-nitrovinyl]benzene, the reaction proceeded in a meso-trick manner to give the chiral double Friedel-Crafts adduct with 97% enantiomeric excess.
