15938-03-1 Usage
General Description
2,4,6-trinitrophenol, commonly known as picric acid, is a yellow crystalline substance used in the production of explosives, dyes, and pharmaceuticals. It is highly toxic and may cause severe burns, eye and skin irritation, and respiratory problems. When combined with 2-methylpyridine in a 1:1 ratio, the resulting mixture can be used as a corrosion inhibitor for aluminum alloys and as a stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride. However, this combination should be handled with caution due to the toxic and hazardous nature of 2,4,6-trinitrophenol.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 15938-03-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,5,9,3 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 15938-03:
(7*1)+(6*5)+(5*9)+(4*3)+(3*8)+(2*0)+(1*3)=121
121 % 10 = 1
So 15938-03-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
