, p. 156 - 160 (1995)
15N CSA spectra were acquired for four isotopically labeled bisphthalimide compounds. The 15N CSA tensor elements (δ11, δ22, and δ33) for the labeled derivatives were determined from CSA lineshape analysis. In addition, the CSA spectrum for the 15N, 13C-labeled N-methylphthalimide was obtained. From CSA lineshape analysis, it was determined that δ33 lies approximately along the N-C bond axis, with δ22 assumed to be approximately perpendicular to the imide plane. The angles α and β were found to be 90 deg and 7 deg, respectively. The dipolar coupling constant for the 13C-15N bond was 883 Hz, corresponding to a bond length of 1.51 Angstroem.

Synthesis of isotopically-labelled nitroxyl radicals for use as spin probes

, p. 663 - 668 (2007/10/02)
The synthesis of [15N]-1,1,3,3-tetrakis(trideuteriomethyl)isoindolin-2-yloxyl and of some 5-alkyl derivatives have been achieved by standard synthetic routes. The presence of deuterium improves the sharpness of the signals, and this, together with the incorporation of nitrogen-15, enhances the application of such compounds as spin probes; allyl substituents at C-5 improve the lipophilicity.
