Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 161416-98-4 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,6,1,4,1 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 161416-98:
(8*1)+(7*6)+(6*1)+(5*4)+(4*1)+(3*6)+(2*9)+(1*8)=124
124 % 10 = 4
So 161416-98-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis and evaluation of isatin analogs as caspase-3 inhibitors: Introduction of a hydrophilic group increases potency in a whole cell assay

Chu, Wenhua,Rothfuss, Justin,Zhou, Dong,MacH, Robert H.

, p. 2192 - 2197 (2011/05/15)

A series of isatin analogs containing a hydrophilic group, including a pyridine ring, ethylene glycol group, and a triazole ring, have been synthesized, and their inhibition potency for caspase-3 was measured both in vitro (i.e., recombinant enzyme) and in whole cells (HeLa cells). The analogs having a hydrophilic group, including 12, 13, 16, 38, and 40, have dramatically increased activity in vitro and in HeLa cells compared to the corresponding unsubstituted N-phenyl isatin analogs.

3-pyridyloxymethyl heterocyclic ether compounds useful in controlling neurotransmitter release

-

, (2008/06/13)

Novel heterocyclic ether compounds of the formula: STR1 wherein n, *, R1, R2, R3 and y are specifically defined, or pharmaceutically acceptable salts or prodrugs thereof, which are useful in selectively controlling neurotransmitter release; therapeutically-effective pharmaceutical compositions of these compounds; and use of said compositions to selectively control neurotransmitter release in mammals.
