Synthesis of methacrylate monomers from alkynes and arenealkenylruthenium(II) catalyst
Lavastre, Olivier,Dixneuf, Pierre H.
, p. C9 - C10 (1995)
The alkenyl derivatives IIIa (R=Me) and IIIb (R=Ph) have been prepared by deprotonation of the corresponding carbene complexes II with Me3COK.Complexes III can be used as efficient catalysts for the addition of functional carboxylic acids to terminal alkynes to give dioxolanone 4, from R(-)mandelic acid, or methacrylates of the CH2=C(Me)CO-OY: Y=C(=CH2)n-Bu, 6, CH2CH2CCH, 8, or C(=CH2)CH2CH2CH2CH2C(=CH2)OCOC(Me)=CH2, 10.Keywords: Arene complexes; Alkenyl complexes; Ruthenium; Methacrylate monomers; Synthesis
