Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 161991-55-5 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,6,1,9,9 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 161991-55:
(8*1)+(7*6)+(6*1)+(5*9)+(4*9)+(3*1)+(2*5)+(1*5)=155
155 % 10 = 5
So 161991-55-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Luminescent Nitridometal Complexes. Photophysical and Photochemical Properties of the 3xy)1(d?*)1> Excited State of Nitridoosmium(VI) Complexes with Polypyridine Ligands

Chin, Kwok-Fai,Cheung, Kung-Kai,Yip, Hon-Kay,Mak, Thomas C. W.,Che, Chi Ming

, p. 657 - 664 (1995)

Nitridoosmium(VI) complexes of substituted 2,2'-bipyridines and 1,10-phenanthrolines have been prepared from (-) and the appropriate chelating ligands in acetonitrile.Reaction of (bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine) and Cl (terpy = 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine) with neat trifluoromethanesulfonic acid gave (+) and (+) respectively. The crystal structures of (dmbipy = 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine), (+) and (+) show that the OsN distances are 1.68(1), 1.630(7) and 1.629(8) Angstroem respectively. In the latter two complexes the OsN moiety is perpendicular to the plane of the chelating ligand. The spectroscopic, photophysical and photochemical properties of the newly prepared complexes have been studied. All have long-lived and emissive 3xy,d?*> excited states in the solid state and in fluid solution at room temperature. The complex mer- has the longest emission lifetime 4.64 μs (at infinite dilution) in degassed acetonitrile at room temperature.Based on quenching studies with aromatic hydrocarbons, this complex is a powerful photooxidant with E being 2.12(30) V vs. the normal hydrogen electrode.
