Page/Page column 21, (2010/02/08)
The invention relates to bisphenolate ligand systems and related compounds, transition metal compounds containing said inventive ligand systems, a catalyst system for the polymerization of unsaturated compounds containing at least one inventive transition metal compound and at least one co-catalyst, a method for the production of polymers by polymerization or copolymerization of at least one unsaturated compound in the presence of an inventive catalyst system and the use of an inventive transition metal compound or an inventive catalyst system for the production of isotactic polystyrene.
Esterification process with calcium hydroxybenzyl phosphonate-phenol sulfide catalyst system
-
, (2008/06/13)
An esterfication process particularly for the preparation of rosin esters, polyesters and polymeric esters wherein aliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acids are reacted with appropriate alcohols in the presence of catalytic amounts of a mixture of a calcium bis[monoethyl-(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxybenzyl) phosphonate] and a phenol sulfide, the presence of said mixture serving to reduce the time necessary for complete esterification and to provide esters with increased oxidation stability and better color.
