Catalytic enantioselective total synthesis of (-)-pyridovericin

The first enantioselective catalytic total synthesis of (-)-pyridovericin is reported. The key steps involve a modified HWE reaction under aqueous conditions and an asymmetric iridium-catalyzed hydrogenation.
