supporting information, p. 6872 - 6876 (2021/09/14)
An efficient asymmetric tandem reaction of o-alkynylbenzaldehydes, amines, and diazo compounds catalyzed by chiral silver imidodiphosphate has been established. Chiral 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline analogues have a tertiary stereocenter at the C1 position, and substituents at the C3 position are available with up to 97% yields and 98% ee. These products can be elaborated into the corresponding β-aminophosphonates or PARP1-inhibitor analogues.
Alternative Lewis acids to effect Claisen rearrangement
Sharma,Ilangovan,Sreenivas, Punna,Mahalingam
, p. 615 - 618 (2007/10/03)
Yb(OTf)3 and DIBAL-H are developed as alternative Lewis acids for effecting Claisen rearrangement of allyl, crotyl and prenyl aryl ethers.
Substituted phenols as fragrance, flavor and antimicrobial compounds
-
, (2008/06/13)
A fragrance and/or flavor compound of the general formula (I): wherein R1 is one of propyl or a 2-propenyl group and R2 is a C1-C5 alkyl group, said compound having exactly one R1 and from one to four R2. The compounds possess antimicrobial activity as well as flavor or odor characteristics acceptable for use in flavors and fragrances, respectively. The compounds are useful in forming flavor and/or fragrance compositions having antimicrobial activity. Product formulations, such as detergents, are useful for imparting both acceptable fragrance and antimicrobial properties. Other product formulations, such as mouthwashes, are useful for imparting both acceptable flavor and antimicrobial properties.
Preparation of Some 2-(2' H-Benzotriazol-2'-yl)phenol Ultraviolet Absorbers: Application of the Transalkylation Reaction
Rosevear, Judi,Wilshire, John F.K.
, p. 1163 - 1176 (2007/10/02)
When 2-(2' H-benzotriazol-2'-yl)phenols containing t-alkyl substituents are warmed in toluene solution with an aluminium chloride/nitromethane catalyst, the t-alkyl groups are transferred to the solvent (toluene). This transalkylation reaction has been used to prepare not readily accessible or previously inaccessible 2-(2' H-benzotriazol-2'-yl)phenols, a class of ultraviolet absorbers widely used in industry.
