The silicon- and germanium-containing titanocene complexes Cp2TiS2Si(C6H5)2 and Cp2TiS2Ge(C6H5)2 (Cp = η5-C5H5) react with S2Cl2 and (CH2SCl)2, respectively, to give five- and seven-membered heterocycles which have been characterized by mass and 1H NMR spectroscopy.
