Synthetic approaches towards the norneolingan from Krameria paucifolia Rose (Krameriaceae)

Three approaches have been made towards synthesis of the new norneolignan 2-(2'-hydroxy-4'-methoxyphenyl)-5- benzofuran (1) and successful synthesis of the benzyl ether of 1 has been accomplished using substituted copper (I) acetylide 22 and appropriate o-halophenol 26.
