The single state preparation of Mn (n = 2, M = Zn 1, Co 2 or Cd 3; n = 1, M = NH4(1+) 4) from HPO(O-i-Pr)2, sulfur and ZnO, CoCO3, CdCO3 or NH3 has been achieved.The reaction of 1 with cis- and (M = Pt or Pd) gave 2ZnCl2> 5 and 3ZnCl> (M = Pd 6 or Pt 7) respectively.The crystal structures of 3, 6 and 7 have been determined.The cadmium complex 3 exists as Cd23 units linked by additional monothiophosphate ligands into polymeric chains.Complexes 6 and 7 are isomorphous and contain tetrahedral zinc centres linked to square-planar platinum atoms with polymer formation deing inhibited by the presence of PMe2Ph ligands.
