A simple and very efficient route to α,β-unsaturated hydrazones derived from ketones has been developed.These compounds are obtained through Wittig reaction of the phosphoranes generated "in situ" from 4b-enhydrazino phosphonium salts with aldehydes and olefination reaction of phosphine oxides derived from hydrazines.
