Usage

General Description

REACTIVE BLUE 5, also known as C.I. 61205, is a synthetic, bright blue dye commonly used in the textile industry for dyeing cotton, wool, and silk. Its chemical structure contains aromatic compounds and sulfonate groups, making it a reactive dye that forms covalent bonds with the fabric, resulting in a durable and colorfast dyeing effect. However, REACTIVE BLUE 5 has been found to have potential environmental and health hazards, as it is difficult to biodegrade and can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions in individuals who come into contact with it.
