Metal chelates with Schiff bases coordinated through the N3S, N2OS, and N2S2 moieties are prepared by addition of pyridine to nickel complexes with N-(5-nitro-2-mercaptobenzylidene)-2-(tosylamino-, hydroxy-, mercapto)anilines and characterized. These complexes are the first examples of metal chelates with tridentate N,O,S-donor ligand systems on the basis ofazomethines derived from 2-mercaptobenzaldehyde.
