Synthesis and Characterisation of Copper(II) Complexes of 1,3,4-Oxadiazole Thioureas

The complexes of CuII with ligands derived from some 2-amino-5-substituted-1,3,4-oxadiazoles and benzoyl isothiocyanates have been synthesised and characterised by analytical, magnetic, conductance, thermal and ir, electronic and esr spectral data.The ligands (L's) exhibit neutral, bidentate behaviour bonding to CuII through benzoyl oxygen and keto sulphur.The complexes, with the composition , conform to square-planar geometry.From the esr spectra of the complexes, the bonding paramaters characterising the covalency have been calculated and discussed.
