Studies on some homo/hetero trinuclear metal complexes of 1,8-di(2'-hydroxyphenyl)-4,5-diphenyl-2,3,6,7-tetrazaoctan-1,3,5,7-tetraene with copper(II), nickel(II) and cobalt(II)

A series of homo/hetero trinuclear metal complexes of the type MNiML2(H2O)n mH2O, -, Br- and NO3-, n=O or 4 and m=O,1 or 1.5> have been isolated in a stepwise reaction from the precursor bis(1, 2-diphenyl ethane-1, 2 dione dihydrazone) nickel(II) complexes.They have been characterized by different physico-chemical analysis.All the metal complexes have an octahedral environment around the metal centres except for Ni-Ni-NI system where a square planar geometry is proposed for the terminal nickel(II) centres.Tetragonal parameters have also been calculated.Complexes containing copper(II) centres have been screened against some fungal pathogens as possible fungicides.
