Reactions of chloro(imino)phosphine with internal 1-alkoxyalkynes result in formation of stable 1-aza-2-phospha-1,3-butadienes.The latter react with alkynes under mild conditions to produce 1-alkenyl-λ5-phosphirenes in high yields, as well as take up water and hydrogen chloride at the P=N bond. With the terminal ethoxyacetylene, chloro(imino)phosphine gives an unstable product which readily isomerizes into 1,3-diazadiphosphetidine.
