General Description

1,1,2-Trimethyl-1H-benzo[e]indole-6,8-disulfonic acid, also known as "TMB" or "Lophine", is a synthetic compound with the chemical formula C15H15NO6S2. It is a derivative of benzofuran and is commonly used as a reagent in analytical chemistry for the determination of aldehydes and ketones. TMB is a yellow crystalline powder that is soluble in water and is commonly used as a substrate for the enzyme horseradish peroxidase in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs). It has also been used in the detection of hydrogen peroxide and other peroxidase substrates. Additionally, TMB has potential applications in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries due to its unique chemical properties.
