Nickel(II) coordination compounds with asymmetric 15-membered macrocyclic octaaza ligands based on S-alkylisothiocarbohydrazides and α- and β-diketones (NiL) were obtained by template synthesis. The (5 : 6 : 5 : 7) succession of chelate rings was identified for the first time, although six types of linkage isomers are possible for the synthesized ligands. The formation of a certain NiL isomer is determined by the order in which the reagents are introduced in the reaction. The structure of the synthesized compounds was established by electron-impact mass spectrometry, IR and NMR spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction techniques.
