2. Aluminum sulfate hydrate is a chemical compound commonly used as a flocculating agent in the purification of drinking water and waste water treatment plants, and also in paper manufacturing. Used as coagulant in decolorization and COD removal of secondary yeast wastewater effluents. It is also plays a significant role in arsenic removal by coagulation process.

General Description

Aluminum sulfate hydrate is a hydrated aluminum salt. Aluminum sulfate is widely used in oil and fat processing, paper manufacturing and as a flocculant for water treatment. The kinetics of its dehydration by thermal decomposition has been investigated. It is one of the components of hematoxylin solution. Spherical particles of aluminum sulfate hydrate has been synthesized by prilling technique.
