In our previous publication the reaction of 2-cyanomethyl-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one with amines was reported to afford 2-cyanomethyl-4-quinazolinones or cyano group free 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2,4-quinazolinediones following a decyanomethylation pathway.Consequently, it was found interesting to study the behaviour of 6-bromo-2-cyanomethyl-3,1-benzoxazin-4-one (III) towards a variety of amines.
