5-(β-D-glucopyranosyloxy)-2-hydroxybenzoic acid, also known as salicin, is a naturally occurring organic compound found in the bark of willow trees and other plants. It is a glycoside, consisting of a glucose molecule attached to a salicylic acid molecule through a β-D-glucopyranosidic linkage. Salicin is a key precursor in the synthesis of aspirin, a widely used anti-inflammatory and analgesic drug. It has been used for centuries for its pain-relieving and fever-reducing properties, and its hydrolysis yields salicylic acid, which is the active component in aspirin. Salicin is also known for its antioxidant properties and is being studied for potential health benefits, including anti-inflammatory and anticancer effects.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 1820-89-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 1,8,2 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1820-89:
(6*1)+(5*8)+(4*2)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*9)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 1820-89-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of antioxidative and anti-inflammatory drugs glucoconjugates

Uhrig, Rainer K.,Picard, Martin A.,Beyreuther, Konrad,Wiessler, Manfred

, p. 72 - 80 (2007/10/03)

Glucoconjugates of (±)-ibuprofen, (±)-α-tocopherol (vitamin E), gentisic acid, gallic acid, 2,6-bis(tert-butyl)-4-thiophenol, and N-acetyl-L-cysteine were prepared with the objective of increasing the bioavailability of such antioxidant and anti-inflammatory drugs. The O-glucosides were synthesized using benzylated α-D-glucopyranosyl trichloracetimidate as glycosyl donor. For the synthesis of the S-glucosides, the glycosyl donor 1,2,3,4,6-penta-O-acetyl-β-D-glucopyranose provided higher yields than the corresponding O-acetylated imidate.
