Bis(tetraphenylphosphonium) tetrachlorodioxouranate(VI) dichloromethane solvate
Brown, Dean R.,Chippindale, Ann M.,Denning, Robert G.
, p. 1164 - 1166 (1996)
Crystals of the title compound, (C24H20P)2[UO2Cl 4].-CH2Cl2, contain pseudo-octahedral tetrachlorouranyl anions having approximate D4h, and exact Ci point symmetry. The asymmetric unit contains two such anions, each distinct and isolated, and each unperturbed by close anion-anion packing, hydrogen bonding or the presence of small polarizing cations. The U=O bond lengths are 1.75 (1) and 1.77 (1) A, and provide points of reference for the recently reported oxouranium (phosphorane iminato) complex containing the O=U=N- group.
Stable Analogs of the Uranyl Ion Containing the -N=U=N- Group
Brown, Dean R.,Denning, Robert G.
, p. 6158 - 6163 (2008/10/09)
A series of compounds containing the -N=U=N- group has been prepared. Their physical and chemical properties are reported. They adopt a trans configuration, and are thermally robust. The chemistry of some recently-prepared O=U=N- compounds is also described. These are the first examples of stable analogs of the uranyl ion UO22+. The factors that determine their stability are discussed.
