Synthesis of some new heterocycles containing indole moiety

3(4-Acetylphenylimino)indol-2-one 1 reacts readily with semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazide, phenyl hydrazine, 4-amino ethyl (methyl) benzoate, malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate to give compounds 2-6. Interaction of the semicarbazone derivative 2 with diethyl malonate, selenium dioxide and thionyl chloride gives compounds 7-9. Cyclocondensation of the thiosemicarbazone 3 with different α-halocarbonyl and α-haloesters affords the thiazolyl derivatives 10-13. 3-Ethoxy (methoxy) carbonyl phenyl imino indole-2-one 6a and 6b reacts with hydrazine, phenyl hydrazine, aniline, thiosemicarbazide to give compounds 14-17. The hydrazide 14 reacts with benzaldehyde, acetylacetone, ethylacetoacetate and carbon disulphide to give 18-21.
