Cycloaddition of azides to α,β-acetylenic germanium-containing aldehydes and aldimines

Methods for preparation of 4-(trialkylgermyl)-1,2,3-triazoles containing a formyl or an organyliminomethyl group on the 5 position of the heteroring are proposed. These methods rely on the cycloaddition of organic and inorganic azides to conjugated germanium-containing acetylenic aldehydes and aldimines. Sodium azide, hydrazoic acid, and aryl azides are added chemo- and regiospecifically at the triple bond of the mentioned acetylenic aldehydes and aldimines.
