Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 185836-77-5 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,8,5,8,3 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 185836-77:
(8*1)+(7*8)+(6*5)+(5*8)+(4*3)+(3*6)+(2*7)+(1*7)=185
185 % 10 = 5
So 185836-77-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Synthesis of (R)- and (S)- muscone

Fujimoto, Satoko,Yoshikawa, Keisuke,Itoh, Masamichi,Kitahara, Takeshi

, p. 1389 - 1392 (2002)

(R)-(-)-Muscone (3-methylcyclopentadecanone, 1) the key perfumery component isolated from the male musk deer, Moschus moschiferus,* was synthesized from the easily available chiral building block, (R)-3-tert-butoxycarbonyl-2- methylpropanoic acid (2), by employing ring-closing olefin metathesis (RCM). Antipode (+)-1 was also synthesized in a similar manner from tert-butyl (S)-3-methoxycarbonylbutanoate (10). *(a) Walbaum, H. J. J. Prakt.
