N-(N-Salicylidenesulfanilyl)acetamide (L1) and N-[N-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylmethylene)sulfanilyl]-acetamide (L2) react in propanol with cobalt, nickel, and copper acetates to yield the intracomplex compounds M(L1-H)2·n H2O and M(L2-H)2·n H2O (M = Co, Ni, Cu; n = 2-5). Cobalt, nickel, or copper chlorides or bromides with N-[N-(2-oxoindolin-3-ylidene)sulfanilyl]acetamide (L3) or N-(N-(5-nitrofurfurylidene)sulfanilyl]acetamide (L4), taken in a 1:2 molar ratio, produce the adducts MX2L32·n H2O and MX2L42·n H2O (X = Cl, Br; n = 0, 1). The intracomplex compounds have a tetrahedral or square-planar structure of the coordination entity, while the adducts are octahedral. Ligands L1, L2, L3, and L4 are bidentate in all the complexes. Thermal decomposition of the complexes involves dehydration followed by complete thermooxidative destruction.
