First Example of Template Electrosynthesis of Metal Chelates

The example of reaction of salicylaldehyde with 2-N-tosylaminoaniline under conditions of electrochemical dissolution of nickel, copper, zinc, and cadmium anodes was used to show the possibily of template synthesis of metal chelates. It is established that the structure of resulting complexes depends on the nature of the metal.
