Description
UNC3866, also known as N-?[4-?(1,?1-Dimethylethyl)?benzoyl]?-?L-?phenylalanyl-?L-?alanyl-?L-?leucyl-?N6,?N6-?diethyl-?L-?lysyl-?L-serine Methyl Ester, is a selective antagonist of the chromodomains of Polycomb group proteins CBX4 and CBX7. It is an effective inhibitor of chromobox homolog 7 (CBX7) with a dissociation constant (Kd) of 97 nM and also binds to CBX4 with a Kd of 94 nM. UNC3866 exhibits more than 6-fold selectivity over other chromodomains, such as CBX2, 6, and 8, and the chromodomain Y family (CDY) chromodomains CDY1, L1b, and L2. UNC3866 has the potential to regulate cell fate decisions during embryogenesis and inhibit prostate cell proliferation.
Uses
Used in Embryogenesis and Cell Fate Regulation:
UNC3866 is used as a selective antagonist for the chromodomains of CBX4 and CBX7, playing a crucial role in regulating cell fate decisions during embryogenesis. Its ability to inhibit these chromodomains can provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying cell differentiation and development.
Used in Prostate Cancer Research:
In the context of prostate cancer, UNC3866 is used as an inhibitor to reduce prostate cell proliferation. It has been shown to induce a senescent-like morphology and decrease the growth of PC3 cells, a prostate cancer cell line, with an EC50 value of 7.6 μM.
Used in Chromatin Regulation Studies:
As an inhibitor of specific chromodomains, UNC3866 can be employed in research aimed at understanding the role of Polycomb group proteins in chromatin regulation and gene expression. UNC3866 can help elucidate the molecular interactions and pathways involved in these processes.
Used in Drug Development:
The selective inhibition of CBX4 and CBX7 chromodomains by UNC3866 makes it a potential candidate for the development of novel therapeutics targeting chromatin regulation and cell fate decisions. Further research and development could lead to the creation of new drugs for various applications, including cancer treatment and other conditions related to chromatin regulation.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1872382-47-2 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,8,7,2,3,8 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1872382-47:
(9*1)+(8*8)+(7*7)+(6*2)+(5*3)+(4*8)+(3*2)+(2*4)+(1*7)=202
202 % 10 = 2
So 1872382-47-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
