Uses
Used in Plastics Industry:
1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, 4,4'-[1,3-phenylenebis(oxy)]bisis used as a plasticizer for [application reason] to enhance the flexibility, workability, and durability of plastic materials in products such as PVC, vinyl flooring, and medical devices.
Used in Medical Devices Industry:
1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, 4,4'-[1,3-phenylenebis(oxy)]bisis used as a plasticizer in the manufacturing of medical devices for [application reason] to improve their flexibility and durability, ensuring better performance and patient safety.
However, due to the potential health risks associated with 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, 4,4'-[1,3-phenylenebis(oxy)]bis-, there is a growing demand for safer alternatives in both the plastics and medical devices industries. Researchers and manufacturers are actively exploring and developing alternative plasticizers that are less harmful to human health and the environment.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 18959-91-6 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,8,9,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 9 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 18959-91:
(7*1)+(6*8)+(5*9)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*9)+(1*1)=166
166 % 10 = 6
So 18959-91-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

METHODS OF MANUFACTURE OF DIANHYDRIDES
-
, (2021/12/31)
A method of making dianhydride includes contacting a N-Substituted diimide with a carboxylic acid and substituted or unsubstituted dimethyl sulfoxide in an aqueous medium to provide a reaction mixture including tetra acid, triacid, imide diacid and diimide along with substituted or unsubstituted acetic acid, dimethyl sulfoxide and their derivatives. The method includes the isolation of tetra acid by precipitation in water followed by centrifuge or filtration. The tetra acid is converted into the corresponding dianhydride. The dianhydride prepared by the method are also described as precursor to make polyetherimide.
